Granite is a 100% natural product, with any natural product comes variance & unpredictability. We advise our clients to select their slabs prior to fabrication. When looking at a small sample it is impossible to get a feel for the pattern movement; one half of the slab could potentially look entirely different from the other half! Granite is low-maintenance. Please talk to your fabricator in regard to the use of sealers.
Quartz is a combo of ground natural quartzite, bound with a polyester-resin compound. Quartz is like a hybrid combination of a granite countertop & Corian solid surface; the main benefit is that it does not require any annual maintenance. This man-made product gives a more predictable coloration & you will find bold colours that are not typically found in nature. Consider that quartz slabs are typically smaller & solid-coloured slabs can make seam matching a challenge.
